Paris, October 18th 2012 – The Imprimerie Nationale, expert in secure ID solutions, data management, prints and digitized flows, announces today the production and the personalization of the 10th million French biometric passport.
The success of this industrial performance is due to the high quality level that allows producing and personalizing secure titles in less than three days. In 2012, the Imprimerie Nationale will produce over 3.2 million biometric passports that is a 10% increase compared to 2011.
Passports personalization was launched in the Imprimerie Nationale in April 2006. Since then, over 19 million electronic and biometric passports have been issued by the production unit based in Douai, certified O.I.V. (Vital Importance Operator).
